One Month to Go!

Well, as of tomorrow, there's only a month left before we leave for the Land of the Rising Sun! There's still plenty to do- asking AT&T about phones, buying our rail passes, and exchanging currency- but the planning is all done and our itineraries are set. To give an idea of the scope of our trip, below is a map of the main island, Honshu (the upper part is cut off), and Shikoku, the smallest of the four main islands. Our trip route is highlighted in orange with pink for day-trips.
We arrive in Tokyo (far right), travel north to the alps, then southwest to the ancient capital of Kyoto. After a few days there, we continue on to spend 5 days on Shikoku in two different cities, and then back towards Kyoto to Japan's third largest city, Osaka. Finally, we return to Tokyo for a couple days before catching a flight back east.
It's hard to believe this is really happening! I'm super excited and hope everyone who reads this blog can enjoy learning about Japan through the posts I'll make from there. :)

Tablet

So I'm typing this slowly from my tablet, which doesn't have a very good keyboard, but oh well, it's better than nothing. I will be using this device to make posts while in Japan, so I wanted to make sure I could find a blog/website that would allow me to post easily through wi-fi. It seems Blogger is more mobile friendly than webnode, so I'll probably switch over to this one instead. However, the webnode blog will stay up because it has a few nice features such as a Japan clock (which I will try to move to this blog). Okay, that's all.
